Naval Architect, Project Manager
My journey into yachting has been an unusual one. While most professionals find their way into the superyacht industry as an extension of their sailing experience, in my case it began with technical curiosity. As an Architecture student, I became fascinated by the complexity of sailing yachts, while researching high-tech structures. From then on, my interest grew. I started sailing in the Giraglia Cup, obtained a Yachtsman certificate, and after graduating enrolled in a postgraduate degree in Naval Architecture.
Since then, I have had a 10-year+ experience in the premium yacht industry, collaborating with entrepreneurs and managing new-build projects from concept to delivery, one of them designed by Designworks, a BMW Group company. Previously to starting MetaYachts, I completed a 2-year project as a Business Development Manager for UNStudio — an international architecture firm, based in Amsterdam and Shanghai, best known for the design of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
I hold an MSc in Architecture (KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture, Campus Ghent, Belgium) and a Postgraduate in Naval Architecture (ENSA Nantes, France) and Composite Engineering (Ghent University, Belgium). I am fluent in Dutch, Portuguese, English and French, and currently learning Russian.
